We stayed one night last week at Lander Lodge. Due to traffic we arrived late (almost 9) but Laural and Don were very accommodating. And let us know we had to hurry to find an open restaurant (OK things close early in Lander!). We ate at the Thai Chef - what a wonderful surprise in rural Wyoming.
Don and his crew are the best! I loved the free popcorn upstairs. And best of all my Peterbilt was fixed to my expectations. Here's to the next 500,000 miles!
Lovely place for a get-away. My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful overnight in the Mountain Suite (check their website) to get some alone time. The rooms were lovely and the place was clean and quiet. I LOVED the bathroom's amazing shower – it's huge! And while we didn't need it, I liked having the kitchen available too.
It was a quiet night, but in the morning we had a lovely breakfast with Laural and Don, and they catered beautifully to my vegan wife. (And I liked the breakfast smoothie too!). they were great company for our first night/morning in Wyoming. The downstairs where the bedrooms are is spacious (we were the only ones there) and the walk out back was lovely in the morning. Yes, the bedrooms are a bit dark for my liking, but that is a very minor complaint. Still five stars.
On business I spent a comfortable, leisure, 3-day weekend at a place I call, "The best kept secret in Wyoming"! Access to facilities, I.e. laundry, kitchen, hot tub, sauna, and theatre. Laural and Don made the stay pleasant! The ranch not only is nestled in the beautiful Wind River mountain valley it has miniature horses to enjoy. Horseback riding, ATV riding and bicycling, are available too! I will recommend Lander Lodging to all friends and colleges whom I associate. This location is perfect for those who like history and like to witness pioneer heritage. Martins cove and six crossing is near as well as the Oregon and Mormon trails. Nearby Sinks Canyon, a geologic site is bustling now as the winter runoff is in full capacity, certainly spectacular let alone majestic.
Even though it was just two of us, I kept thinking it would be a fun way to travel with kids. Because the bedrooms were all off of the main living area, it would allow mom and dad a little space and comfortably fit four kids. The whole suite is arranged similar to a small home with one entrance to the rest of the house and another to the a porch outside. This made coming and going easy.
Lander lodging was the perfect place for us and our 5 kids for a long wknd in May. Beautiful setting, close to town, clean and comfortable apartment. Don and Laural were as friendly as could be, yet gave us our privacy. There is a beautiful backyard setting, complete with grill and fire pit, where we hosted a small gathering for extended family. The kids roamed about the property petting the mini horses and viewing the llamas and wild deer. This is a working ranch and projects are happening, so don't expect the opulence of a world class resort. That isn't why we came here. Do expect warm hospitality in a beautiful, outdoor setting to use as a home base while you hike, bike, ski, ride, fish, or just visit friends.
